Dr. Daniel Philpott is a Professor of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame and Senior Associate Scholar of the Religious Freedom Institute. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1996 and studies religion and global politics, specializing in political reconciliation, religious freedom, theories of the political behavior of religious actors, and Christian political theology. Among his books are Just and Unjust Peace: An Ethics of Reconciliation (2012), God's Century (2011), written together with Monica Duffy Toft and Timothy Samuel Shah, and the just-published Religious Freedom In Islam: The Fate of a Universal Human Right in the Muslim World Today (2019).

One of our classmates is in the news for raising money for a good cause while honoring his mother.
Time marches on. The knees are a bit crankier and the hair is thinning. But the bond is just as unwavering.
It’s a bond forged over 20 years of soccer competition, one born in 1999 on a muddy field in Toronto after a near lightning strike.
Saturday, on a crisp, sun-splashed day far different from the one that ignited the friendly rivalry, two teams of middle-aged men, one from Pittsburgh and one from Toronto, competed again for the Madeline Killian Memorial Cup. Please click on the link to read the entire article.
