Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Rd., Brentwood 15227, Monday from 10-11 a.m. at which time a Blessing Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

Born April 21, 1966 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late James Schmitt and Eileen Ernst Schmitt.
Janice was a self-employed farmer her entire adult life. She worked in the green house and loved flowers. She will be remembered for a very special love she shared with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Daniel W. Maurer, 49, of Allison Park passed away Tuesday.
Born Oct. 16, 1966, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Frank "Pete" and Anita Volpe Maurer.
Dan was Catholic. He dedicated his entire life to saving lives as a paramedic through his former job at Harmony EMS, where he also served as a board member. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
